Bus sketch on the iPhone, trying out the SketchClub app
Hey fellow Tumblr-ers (Tumblites? Tumblanders??) It’s been a while, but I’m back with some illustration-y goodness!
I’m challenging myself to making character designs from the catalog of the late, great fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Many of you will be familiar with McQueen’s work because of Lady Gaga, who most memorably wore his designs in her video for “Bad Romance”.
Anyway, these drawings are meant to be relatively quick and spontaneous to get me out of my comfort zone, and I plan to experiment with a bunch of different techniques. Some days, I’ll probably be more literal than others, but hopefully, I’ll always learn something.
Today’s character design is based on a bullfighter-inspired outfit from his “El bail de toro retorcido” collection (“The dance of the kinky bull”)
A grotesque work in progress. Believe it or not, this is only the second most freakish thing I’ve drawn in the past couple of days.
I promised my personal trainer that I’d make a character for him all the way back in January. I just now finally got around to it. =) Of course, getting a brand spankin’ new Cintiq HD is an easy way to get motivated. Taz should feel honored that his is the first drawing made with my new toy!
If you live or work in downtown San Francisco, ask for him at the Embarcadero Crunch Fitness. You can also read his blog here.
Here are some summer-themed houses from our current game, Monopoly Millionaires. These launched in mid June, and lead up to the release of our special Fourth of July red and blue houses.

Here’s one of the products of that trip to the Columbus Zoo. It might be simple, but it was one of the few sketches that I was happy with during the trip to the Columbus Zoo. Can’t complain, though. I went there for practice, after all.
